Blackpool must surely rate as one of the most famous seaside resorts in Europe. Very little can be said of Blackpool that has not been said a thousand times, it really is a resort for all ages and all seasons, whether you are 8 or 80, whether it rains or shines, there is always something to suit your needs. On all three of Blackpool's piers you will find star studded shows and if that's not enough there are always star names appearing at either the Winter Gardens or the famous Tower Ballroom, in fact the famous names of entertainment are queuing up to appear in Blackpool! The culmination of Blackpool's long season must be, without doubt, the fantastic illuminations, with over a million pounds being spent to light up the town they must compare equally to the famous lights of Las Vegas.
