Torquay is often called 'The Queen of the English Riviera' with a style of its own and has an international flavour as distinct as Cannes. The palm trees and other exotic tropical plants and flowers, the busy harbour and rolling green countryside give Torquay a special atmosphere. Torquay has its own shopping centre, with first class stores. The many beaches stretch along both sides of the town and the Promenade takes you on to the most famous, Torre Abbey sands. With theatres and lively shows there is something for everyone in Torquay.
